Heavy Vehicle Law

Since

2004

The responsibility for safe loads and safe driving has been a shared responsibility under the Heavy Vehicle Laws.

All parties in the supply chain (even when “outsourced”) are responsible for ensuring road users are safe from heavy vehicles.

This extends to include consideration of issue that may make driving on a road unsafe because of inappropriate:

– dangerous goods management –

– load mass or load dimensions –

– load restraint systems –

– maintenance –

– driving –

How parties directly or indirectly deal with transport services can expose them to allegations of influencing  parties in the supply chain and significant fines and jail time.
